With the Vintage WW1 Chronographe Monopoussoir Bell and Ross has highlighted the synthesis between the history of aviation and watch-making. Modeled after the early monopulsate, or single button chronographs of the early 20th century, the WW1 Chronographe Monopoussoir reflects the timekeeping needs of early aviators. A single button embedded into the crown was common among early pilots watches and original vintage models are particularly rare and notoriously expensive. Another nostalgic design element are the long thin lugs that are fashioned to resemble the early converted pocket watches. These had sections of thick wire soldered onto pocket watch cases to convert them to wristwatches.
The WW1 Chronographe Monopoussoir comes with either a calfskin or alligator strap, a polished steel buckle and a anti-reflective sapphire crystal. This timepiece is both practical and stylish. The WW1 Chronographe Monopoussoir is available with a black dial and white numerals as the Heritage or with as the aptly named, Ivory Dial.
